Welcome to the first of our Blog Posts about all things blasters! This post is for helping new players that want to rent guns from our armoury for £1 or less per day. So without further ado, here is a list of our favourite beginner friendly blasters. Note, each blaster has pros and cons so it’s all about finding out what works best for you!
Blaster 1: Strongarm
The Strongarm is a revolver style, front loading nerf blaster, and a popular first time gun.
Pros:
Reliable - This blaster rarely jams and is easy to use
Small - It is easy to stow in your bag during the day
Easy to Reload - This blaster is front loading
Inexpensive - At only 50p per day, it is really cheap to rent!
Cons:
Low Capacity - It holds only 6 darts at a time
Range - It has quite a short range
Blaster 2: Flipfury
The Flipfury is a double revolver. Think Strongarm, but there are two of them!
Pros:
Reliable - Like the Strongarm, this gun rarely jams and is also similar to how it fires
Double the Barrels - With two 6-dart barrels, you have double the ammunition of a Strongarm
Easy to Reload - This blaster is front loading. And it spins
Can Reload While Firing - The second barrel allows you to be able to reload while firing the other barrel.
Cons:
Bulky - This blaster is a tad bulky, so harder to keep in your bag
Range - It is only reliable at short range.
Blaster 3: X-Shot Turbo Fire
Our first non-Nerf gun! This is a rifle style blaster that is like a higher capacity strongarm, but longer. Perfect for players that want more shots before reloading.
Pros:
High Capacity - This blaster has a 20 dart drum
Easy to Reload - This blaster is front loading
Good Range and Power - Kind of explains itself. It is good for both short and long range shots
Reasonably Priced - For only £1 a day, it is a great blaster!
Cons:
Long Blaster - It is difficult to store during the day
Large Blaster - If your plan is to sneak around campus, this is not a good choice
Blaster 4: Stockade
This blaster is like a Strongarm but it is battery powered and holds more darts. Perfect for players who want a semi-automatic blaster.
Pros:
Battery Powered - Just pull the trigger to fire! No priming required.
Easy to Reload - This blaster is front loading
Decent Capacity - This blaster holds 10 darts
Dual Wielding - You can dual wield this gun!
Cons:
Firing - You need to pull the trigger hard to fire it
Revving - This blaster has a short delay when revving up, so be prepared!
Blaster 5: Mediator
The Mediator is a magazine fed gun that can fire lots of darts! This gun is nothing like the Strongarm, but it is still pretty easy to learn to use.
Pros:
Compact - This blaster is quite small when taken apart so is easy to store
High Capacity - As this gun takes magazines, you will have at least 18 shots before you need to reload
Quick Firing - You can rapidly fire this gun
Good Range and Power - This gun is great for long distance combat, and due to its short barrel, also good for close quarters shooting.
Cons:
Non-Traditional Ergonomics - this blaster is side loading, which can be weird for some people
Less Intuitive Initially - Due to it being a magazine fed blaster, it takes a small amount of time to get used to reloading the gun.
And finally, our honourable mention, non-armoury available option: SOCKS
Pros:
Always Reliable - Socks don't jam, but guns can!
Small - easy to carry in a bag!
Accuracy - Socks are great for close quarters combat as they are very hard to dodge!
Basically Free - Everyone owns socks!
Cons:
What cons?
User Dependent - The range, power, and accuracy of your shots are very dependent on the person wielding the socks
We hope this blog helps all you new (and old) players out there! Think we've missed some some good beginner guns? Why not add them in the comments.
